Background

Center for Clean Hydrogen, University of Delaware

Located in Newark, Delaware on the University of Delaware campus, The Center for Clean Hydrogen was launched in 2024 as an interdisciplinary knowledge hub dedicated to driving the adoption of clean hydrogen energy through research and development of innovative, affordable technologies.

As a new academic center with a powerful, urgent mission to fight climate change, the Center for Clean Hydrogen wanted to identify partners and technologies it can leverage to make clean hydrogen more affordable and practical. Grimm & Grove was charged with establishing a brand for the startup organization that would represent its vision and attract academic and industry partners, researchers, students, and entrepreneurs.

Tactics

Grimm & Grove embarked on a multipronged branding effort to position the Center as a leader in clean energy solutions, both in academia and in industry. After an initial discovery “deep dive” to better familiarize ourselves with the client, the industry, and their communications goals, we built a brand for the Center that encompassed both sides of its hybrid identity and appealed to all of its core audiences.
