Melissa is an accomplished business strategist who approaches marketing and communications by first looking at the big picture goals of an organization. She then works to develop the most impactful marketing initiatives that will achieve, or surpass, these goals.
Melissa’s marketing savvy is complemented by her unique ability to connect the dots—between people, ideas, and businesses. These new partnerships fuel success and inspire clients to work with her again and again – and have a great time while doing so. Every business, no matter how large or small, receives Melissa’s personal attention and commitment.
Her unique marketing perspective comes, in part, from the diverse positions she has held in leading corporate and non-profit groups throughout the Philadelphia region. Melissa has served as Director of Corporate and Public Affairs for Aqua America, Inc., executed a regional strategy for Philadelphia’s bid to host the 2016 Olympics, and worked as Port Director for the Delaware River Port Authority.
Some of the Grimm & Grove work she is proudest of includes leading a complete re-positioning and re-branding effort for AthenianRazak. Melissa’s passion for thinking outside the box also helped her create an innovative strategic partnership that’s increasing community support for a lucrative real estate development project in Lancaster, PA. Non-profits also hold a special place in Melissa’s heart and her unique perspective and dedicated approach keep these clients coming back. Helping The Birth Center expand their positioning beyond birthing services fuels her drive to make a difference to the individuals in her community.
As a proud and civically-engaged Philadelphian, Melissa serves on the boards of the Free Library of Philadelphia (Executive Committee) and the United Way of Southeastern Pennsylvania. She also worked with Philadelphia Futures, mentoring a first-generation-to-college student and helping her enter and succeed in college.
